We are 'old school' diners and were fish out of water here..the atmosphere was noisy to the point that having a conversation with my guest was impossible..perhaps the patrons thought they were at 'happy hour' at Hemingways...the menu was very eclectic and the expectation was that 'sampling' was the new paradigm...my salad was the best choice of the evening...my choice for the main course was mussels and they arrived, shelled, cold and few, on a saucer barely sitting in a tasty butter sauce...the dessert choices were three: ice cream, rum baba and peaches with custard...the sauce on the baba was a limp liquid which was poured over a wedge of cake and served with a small pot of whipping cream...the custard was akin to a creme brule but served with a few slices of peach and then topped with a chopped herb...i love creme brule, but this was 'over the top'...there was no american brewed coffee to be had but i imagine that the americana which was offered would have been a fair substitute...don't expect to leave feeling like you were out for dinner.
