The Clarkson Pub may have inhabited the Tiff's location of old, however it misses by a long shot when it come to the service and food that we always enjoyed at Tiff's. We arrived today, July 2 at about 4:20. Our first clue should have been that it was almost empty on Prominade weekend, when there was standing room only to get into other pubs along Dunlop Street. The very minimal menu was hopeful, thinking that if they only had a few dishes to offer, they must be good. We ordered the natchos - $10.00 which consisted of only a few chips and cheese so melted into the chips that it was like cement. Not very tasty. We ordered the calamari which was minimal at best. The main course which took over an hour to arrive, consisted of wings, poutine and a club sandwich. The wings were ok, although were cold and definitely not like the Tiff's of old. The club sandwich was ok. The poutine was cold and got sent back at the end because no service staff checked back to see if everything was ok before that. We took the wings home to heat up so we could eat them later. When I explained that the poutine was cold, there were no apologies. We asked for wetnaps, they never arrived. All in all, we won't return and thank goodness that Tiff's is still alive and well at another location in Barrie. Clarkson Pub is not worth the visit, too expensive for what they have to offer, and the food is not that good, especially with so many other great food establishments in downtown Barrie that are a better value.
